Tomorrow it's officially ON: the Buddy Week program takes onset from tomorrow Monday 17th August, with the ilussion of reuning most of students at master level in DMF.

This event is for DMF master students and their friends. Guidelines below apply for both.

Ticket pick-up at Lerkendal student village at 17:00-17:30 before match.

Ticket price:
100 kr (Norwegian students) - pay in advance, at latest by April 8th
50 kr (international students) - pay in advance, at latest by April 8th
Pizza: 99 kr (buffet at Dolly Dimples at the stadium) - pay at restaurant if you would like to join

Pay 100 / 50 kr online to SOMA account 1503.09.89713. Mark with full name, nationality, study program, cell phone number.

SOMA wish you all a 'God Jul'!

On Friday 14th November SOMA held its annual Christmas Party as a gift to all master students for their hard work throughout the Fall. 

It was a great time to make people aware of the feelings of being part of SOMA and how fulfilling can it be to help other students at DMF.

On behalf of SOMA Staff we would like to wish you all a 'God Jul' and that your wishes may be accomplished in the next year.

SOMA celebrates the arrival of the New Nobel Prizes

On Thursday 9th October, SOMA, as representative body of DMF at NTNU, had the pleasure for their first time of welcoming the new Nobel Prizes of Physiology or Medicine 2014: Prof. Edvard Moser & Prof. May-Britt Moser, from the Kavli Institute for Systems Neuroscience and Centre for Neural Computation.

The prize was also shared with Prof. John O'Keefe from UCL in London. 

The ceremony took place at the canteen of 'Det Medisinske Fakultet' at NTNU and was first presented by the managing director of St Olavs Hospital Nils Kvernmo. It also held many students and personal staff from the same faculty.

                                                       
We, as SOMA members, would like to appreciate the opportunity the Faculty of Medicine gave us to be the ones representing all the students during the ceremony.

Thursday 25th of September at 15:00 there is a Master General Assembly where an election to become a member of the SOMA board will be held.

Food will be served!

Positions up for election are:
President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, Events Administrator, Web Administrator and three positions as supporting board members, 

In total 9 positions - something for all!

A golden opportunity to influence your time at DMF and volunteer work look good on your CV when applying for job.

Thursday 26th of October in NA, Nevrosenteret at 15:00.

First half will be held by the SPR (Study Program Representative) and then SOMA will hold their board election.

Cabin Trip to Studenterhytta on Wednesday 19th February 2014

Hello SOMA members,

SOMA invites you to a magnificent cabin trip at Studenterhytta on a winter Wednesday night on 19th February. This is going to be a great moment for exchange and international master students to have lots of fun, play piano, sits beside the fire and talk.

We all be picked up from Gløshaugen or Dragvoll around 18:00 by the bus, which is free for those of you who are NTNUI members. Otherwise it costs 40 NOK for a round trip.

There, in the cabin, we will be also served a delicious dinner with only 60 kroner with tea. You can also drink for 20 to 55 NOK.

We all then be back by the bus around 10:00 at night.

Summer Starts Here!!

Summer BBQ in the Park!

Exam time or the panic over your thesis is finally coming to a close. We have no doubt that most of us have forgotten what our course mates and even friends look like, so we should definitely correct that before we disappear for the summer!

We are staying optimistic and plan to BBQ, party, play games and generally enjoy the sun on Friday evening at Finalebanen (park by MTFS)

As always, soft drinks, snacks and BBQ food provided by SOMA, and as a treat we may have a few cheeky glasses of wine for you :)

We'll try and get the grills going around 7pm most likely, so join us anytime from then! Bring balls, frizbees, all that jazz, and lets enjoy each others company one last time (until August for some)!

Multicultural Munch-a-thon

In lieu of an event for the 17th May (dangerously close to exams) we have opted for a huge excuse to eat lots of foods on Tuesday 23rd April. We all study alongside people from all over the place right? Well if we have to put up with each others cultural peculiarities (like my pathetic uselessness when it comes to languages) we may as well enjoy the benefits of each other's wonderful cuisines.

The board will be cooking up dishes from each of our home countries and there should be enough food to go around anyway. But to make it extra special, please cook and bring something from your country/region or just your favourite dish to share with everyone. People are free to bring drinks - there is a fridge. There is also a pool table :D

The room is in Nedre Berg studentby, just down the hill from Moholt and a few minutes walk away from Realfagbygget. Access is round the back - the room next to the laundry.

EASTER LUNCH + EGG HUNT

God påske!

Easter isn't over until we say it is! We'll be spending a fair amount of money on some lovely tasty lunch foods on thursday. Come and eat as much as you want for FREE and have a catch up with your friends.

We all need to discuss with a combination of excitement and disgust just how much chocolate we have eaten!

The event will run from 11am to 1pm so just come whenever you have some free time, however the EGG HUNT STARTS AT 11:30am! We are going to hide cream filled chocolate eggs all over the building for you to seek out. Whats the prize for finding one you ask? Well.. a cream filled chocolate egg.

Snow Day 2013!!

With easter so nearby, it could be one of the last weekends of good snow to enjoy, so come and join us up at Lohove this Sunday afternoon!

We'll be BBQing some hotdogs, drinking hot chocolate, eating snacks and generally fooling around in the snow! We have the sleds ready for racing, and anyone is of course welcome to bring their skis.

Come and have fun with us!!

Buses 5 and 9 head up to Lohove (basically right by Dragvoll), but let one of us know if you need help getting there - we can just meet up before.

Barbeque at Høyskoleparken. SOMA will bring barbeque food and drinks, but feel free to bring your own as well. There will be games and lots of fun. Around 22:00 we will go to Den Gode Nabo at Bakklandet and continue the party.

Tuesday: 21.08.2012

Quiz walk by the riverside! We meet outside MTFS, and take the route via Trondheim spectrum (where many of your exams will take place) to Bakklandet. Along the way your team will be given questions and puzzles. There will be a prize for the winning team! If it rains, put on a raincoat and join us anyway!

Wednesday 22.08.2012

Laser tag! In the evening we’ll have fun shooting at each other with laser guns at the laserX Gokart center. We’ll meet outside the student society (big red round building) at 17:00 and take the bus there. One game is NOK 50 and two is NOK 130. SOMA will sponsor the rest. Remember to bring money for the bus fare.
